Our staff are highly trained and dedicated individuals who are passionate about working with children. Each staff member at our child care center completes a pre-employment drug screen and background check, certified in CPR and first aid, and receive ongoing and annual training to ensure the best possible care for your children.
Meet Janelle Kramer
Janelle has been the owner of 9 licensed in-home daycares known as Janelle Kramer Daycares, LLC for the past 35 years. She has played a huge role partnering with families to help raise hundreds of children in the Muncie community. Janelle has had a longtime dream to open a large childcare center. She hopes to be able to reach many more families and children with the development of
Kaleidoscope Kids.
Janelle is devoted, passionate, and driven. She is goal oriented, prides herself on teaching "teamwork makes the dream work" and has a heart for children. If Janelle isn't around the daycares working, you can find her spending time with her 7 grandchildren. She enjoys going to the lake, going on adventures and reading!
Meet Kristi Walters
Kristi attended IU graduating with a degree in Human Development/Family Studies and a minor in Psychology. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. She is still employed as a pediatric occupational therapist at IU Health Ball Pediatric Rehab. Kristi is strong, dedicated, understanding and often gravitates toward kids who need help finding their way. Kristi will bring her expertise to our team to assist in meeting children where they are and helping them to work toward and achieve important developmental milestones.
In her free time, you can find Kristi with her husband, Brandon, and two daughters Addie and Ainsley. They love to spend time together outside, go to the lakes and go on family adventures.
Meet Kanda Kramer
Kanda went to the University of Indianapolis to pursue her nursing degree. Currently, along with working at the daycare, she is employed at IU Health Ball Hospital in the NICU. Kanda is very detailed in her work and demonstrates compassion, fairness, and an immense love for young children. Kanda will assist with safe and accurate handling of and administration of medications as well as helping to manage injuries and other medical needs children may have. When not at the daycares, you can find Kanda adventuring and appreciating the little moments with her husband, Baxter, and five kids- Adleigh, Brady, Briggs, Ayla and Avie!
Meet Kelly Smith
Kelly started working at Janelle’s in 2011 while she was a student at Ball State. She graduated from BSU in 2013 with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. After getting married, Kelly and her husband moved to Knoxville, TN. She worked as a substitute teacher/ instructional aid in several schools in Knoxville. In 2014, Kelly moved back to Indiana and joined the Pre-K crew at Janelle's daycare. In addition to leading our Pre-K program, Kelly is the children's pastor at her church. If she is not working at the daycare or her church you can find Kelly with her husband, Carl, and their two kids, Finley and Freddie. Together, they love to read on their front porch, visit the library and adventure outdoors: hiking, biking, camping, or gardening.
Meet Christy McCashland
Christy graduated with a BA in Sociology from IUPUI. While working and completing her degree, Christy found her strengths were bookkeeping, payroll, planning, organizing, and management. For over 25 years, Christy worked in various manager roles with three local companies. Christy's own children have attended Janelle's since 2013 where she truly felt like they were being cared for in the best place possible. In 2019, Christy began working part time with Janelle doing payroll and some bookkeeping. In 2023, Christy became Janelle's full-time bookkeeper. She is excited to continue helping Janelle grow her business while making Kaleidoscope Kids a reality! In her free time, Christy and her husband, Ron, enjoy attending school and sports activities for their two children, Mason and Maya. Their family also loves to travel and visit new places.
Meet Kate Alcini
Kate earned an associate degree from Ivy Tech to be a Physical Therapy Assistant. She worked in several nursing homes in the Muncie area for six years when she decided she needed a change and came to work at Janelle's to have more time with her children. Kate is excited to continue teaching new skills while loving and cheering kids on as they take steps toward independence! Outside of work, Kate enjoys reading, cross stitching and spending time with her husband, Sam, and two kids, Sutton and Foster.
Meet Jenna Scheidenberger
Jenna started working at Janelle's daycare around age 16 while she finished college. She attended International Business College where she graduated with a degree in Applied Science. After graduation, Jenna worked as a PCT and Medical Assistant in a couple establishments. Once Jenna had her son, Jaxsen, she wanted a change and came back full time to Janelle's! When she is not at daycare, Jenna enjoys going on walks and doing fun activities with Jax!
Meet Tonya Jinks
Tonya Jinks also known as TJ first started her career in child care while she was in high school. After graduating high school, she worked her way from staff to daycare director in various daycares in the Muncie area. Tonya joined Janelle Kramer Daycares in 2012 as Functionality Coordinator. Tonya is kind with a heart of gold and a deep passion for the care of children. Tonya is inspired daily by her husband Jon and their two kids Jacob and Tara. Outside of work TJ enjoys 1,000 piece puzzles , spoiling her dogs and collecting willow tree figurines.
Meet Angie Pennington
Angie grew up in Tennessee and after high school graduation moved to Indiana. Angie has worked in various local daycares for over 20 years. Growing up, Angie had two teachers who really believed in her and she hopes to be a part of each child's support system in this same way. Angie loves to go to the lake, fish, ride horses and spend time with her niece and nephew.
